One Saturday May 20th we will continue in our study titled "Not a Fan" at our Men's Connect Breakfast. Be at the church at 9:00AM as we enjoy a morning meal and a challenging time of discussion and study.
Bring a Body Sunday is coming up again on the 21st of May. Bring a Body Sundays are special excuses for us to get out of our comfort zone and ask friend, family member, or co-worker to church. As you pray for one, pray that God would help you see and take advantage of opportunities to invite your "ones" to church on the 21st. Per usual, it will be a great service with some special refreshments following.
After service on May 21st we will be celebrating what God has done through our tribe AND welcoming our Summer intern Eli Russo with a Potluck. Sign up to bring a main dish OR side dish that feeds at least 8 at highacrescc.com OR on our app. Click "serve here" then find the potluck sign up.
Next Sunday is a BIG SUNDAY. On top of Bring a Body Sunday and the Potluck, we are also deviating from our current series to make a big announcement, and hear a message concerning God's future for our church!
On the 28th & 29th we will be marching in memorial day parades in Ansonia, Derby, and Shelton. We will cruise are float through the streets of our communities as we pass out candy to kids and cards to our veterans with an authentic message of appreciation and hope. If you would like to help with the construction of the float AND/OR march in the parade with us go to our website at www.highacrescc.com or open our app (High Acres CC in the Apple App or Google Play stores) and click on "Serve Here." Fill out the form there, and we will be in touch!
In January this year we were challenged to be heroes in the world around us. Be a hero this month by firing up your grill and inviting some neighbors or co-workers over for a cookout. Ask them about their lives, get to know them, and go the extra mile to make them feel at home and cared for. Two other great opportunities to be heroic are on national nurses appreciation day, and national teachers appreciation day. Give the gift of homemade cookies with a card filled with an encouraging scripture. Let people know you care and are grateful for them!
